Boost users can conveniently view outstanding bills and pay over 50 billers including TNB directly in-app

Kuala Lumpur, 15 November 2021 – Homegrown eWallet Boost announced the addition of Tenaga Nasional Berhad (TNB) as the latest biller in the Boost app. With the inclusion of TNB, Boost is now complete with main utility providers nationwide under its bill payments family making it a one-stop centralised bill payments feature. To date, Boost has over 50 biller partners in categories ranging from telco prepaid and postpaid, internet, TV, local councils, loans and hire purchase.

Boost recently launched three new bill payment features – ViewBills, AutoBills and MultiBills to offer fuss-free bill settlement. ViewBills is a feature that allow users to view their outstanding bill balance and due date directly in the Boost app. With this feature, users can now use Boost to easily manage and pay their TNB bill without having to use multiple apps or platforms and deal with physical bill statements.

From now until 28 February 2022, users who use Boost to pay their TNB bills can enjoy up to RM20 worth of rewards. The first RM10 cashback will be split to RM5 each over two months. New Boost users, on the other hand, will have an additional RM10 instant discount via the Welcome Pack when they register with Boost for the first time, giving new users a total of RM20 off their TNB bills.

Sheyantha Abeykoon, CEO of Boost said, “We are thrilled to add TNB on our list of billers in Boost. We are constantly working hard to build Boost into an essential everyday toolkit for our users with convenient and meaningful solutions. Bill payments is a popular feature in our app. Our users have been requesting for TNB to be added to our list of billers and we heard them. The addition of TNB completes our main utilities category. Now, users can easily manage and tap away all their main utility bills and more within a single platform. This will further simplify and add value to the digital lifestyle that Malaysians have now embraced. This new addition to BoostBills will benefit TNB’s over nine million users in Malaysia, which will undoubtedly include a cross section of Boost’s existing 9.5 million users.”

Boost’s bill payments use case grew to be one of its most popular use cases since the start of them Covid-19 pandemic. From January to September 2021, the total Gross Transaction Value (GTV) of bill payments paid per user grew close to 20% compared to the same period last year. In addition, the number of bills paid per user also increased by 16%.

Of the remaining BoostBills features, AutoBills allow users to set automated recurring scheduled payments, while MultiBills allows users to combine and pay multiple bills in one go. To make the best use of these features, Boost recommends enabling both ViewBills and AutoBills together on a specific bill. This allows users to automatically pay the latest outstanding amount according to due date. Combining these features makes bill payment a seamless process and takes away the hassle of keeping track of multiple bills each month. Boost also includes a Bill Reminder function to avoid missing payments.
