Malaysian Youth to Each Receive up to RM300 in Rewards, Earn up to RM1,500 Income and A Chance to Win Prizes Worth RM50,000 When Redeeming RM150 eBelia Credit with Boost
- 1st June 2021
The eBelia credit can be used at 242,000 online and offline merchants nationwide including those located at 58 college and university campuses
Kuala Lumpur, 1 June 2021 – Starting today, eligible Malaysian students across the country will be able to claim their RM150 eBelia credit from the Government with homegrown e-wallet Boost which is an official e-wallet selected for the initiative. Through Boost, students can access over 242,000 online and offline merchants nationwide, including those located at 58 local college and university campuses across the country.
The rising number of Covid-19 infections and subsequent lockdown announced by the Government makes the launch of eBelia even more timely in leveraging on Boost’s e-wallet infrastructure. With it, Malaysian youth who qualify for the e-wallet credit will be able to safely remain indoors and use it for online purchases. Meanwhile, the eBelia credit would also prove extremely useful for claimants, particularly those who could not head back to their hometowns, should they need to step out to purchase groceries and household necessities. Boost enables them to minimize contact when making offline cashless purchases and avoid touching paper notes that could potentially carry the deadly virus.
To add more benefits for successful eBelia claimants, Boost will be topping up the RM150 from the Government with additional rewards worth up to RM300. These rewards can be redeemed from Boost partners such as Watsons, KFC, Zalora, Fave, Tealive, Starbucks, Celcom, Yoodo, Digi, Great Eastern, BuyMall, Youbeli, Hermo, Mydin and many more on a first come, first served basis.
By providing a way for eBelia claimants to safely spend their e-wallet credit, Boost is confident that this Government initiative would have a positive knock-on effect for merchants to weather the impact of the lockdown as the nation works together to flatten the Covid-19 infection curve and lead towards economic recovery.
Extra Income for our Belia
Considering the financial difficulties faced by some students and their parents during this difficult pandemic, Boost is also working with sister company Aspirasi to introduce a referral programme called ‘Kongsi Klub’ as a way to earn an additional income as well as cultivate and embolden the entrepreneurial spirit amongst students.
Through Kongsi Klub, students can start building enterprising and resourceful skills in helping micro and small merchants obtain low-cost financing of up to RM100,000 via Aspirasi Capital. Users who successfully help micro and small merchants register for Aspirasi Capital will be rewarded with 1.5% of the total financing amount or up to RM1,500 cash reward for each referral.
As an incentive, eBelia users who sign up with Kongsi Klub will get an automatic RM20 e-wallet credit. Users can register for Kongsi Klub at www.aspirasi.co/kongsiklub.
Cherry on top
To add icing to the cake, Boost is giving successful eBelia claimants a chance to win a commemorative gold coin worth RM29,000 (based on current gold price) and other lifestyle products worth over RM50,000 through BoostUP Pick & Win with as little as 50 Boost Coins. Boost users earn Boost Coins automatically when spending with their e-wallets and it can then be used to redeem a host of gifts, vouchers and discounts from Boost partners. It could also be used to redeem cash in Boost Partner Wallets that then can be spent on mobile prepaid, postpaid and petrol payments or even used to purchase insurance coverage.
Apart from the commemorative gold coin, participating in Pick & Win would put them in the running to win amazing prizes such as a Harman Kardon Aura Studio 3 Bluetooth speaker, MSI Thin GF63 Gaming Laptop, Samsung Odyssey G5 WQHD TV, iPad Pro and many more.
Mohd Khairil Abdullah, CEO of Boost said, “The eBelia RM150 e-wallet incentive comes at a trying time for Malaysia, and will go a long way in alleviating living expenses of students. This initiative also has strong potential to help spur domestic spending to regenerate local businesses, especially the micro and smaller merchants. At the same time, it helps mobilize our youth to contribute to the development of a cashless, digital economy.”
“We are proud to once again work hand-in-hand with the Government as a partner in another important national initiative. eBelia helps support our country’s youth as we seek to increase digital adoption and drive economic recovery. For this initiative, we are going the extra mile by providing new income opportunities for our youth while nurturing an entrepreneurial mindset. This is on top of other exciting rewards specially curated for eBelia claimants with Boost,” added Khairil.
