Boost e-wallet and MPH Bookstores collaborate to celebrate World Book Day
Kuala Lumpur, 23 April 2019 – In an effort to cultivate the love of reading in children this World Book Day, homegrown e-wallet, Boost, is collaborating with MPH Bookstores in conjunction with this worldwide celebration. Booklovers can now enjoy cashbacks and discounts when paying with Boost at MPH Bookstores outlets. The collaboration will be launched together with MPH’s annual Monster Hunt, an event held in conjunction with the international celebration of books and reading.
“We are excited to work on a campaign with MPH Bookstores, who has been a sanctuary for book lovers for decades in Malaysia. We hope that the collaboration will give more people the opportunity to own more books they love through the campaign rewards,” said Mohd Khairil Abdullah, CEO of Axiata Digital Services, parent company of Boost.
From 26 April to 30 June 2019, MPH Bookstores’ patrons who pay with Boost can enjoy RM5 off when spending a minimum of RM 50, and this deal is limited to the first 4000 transactions. Some lucky Boost users will also get a 2x cashback throughout the campaign.
This year’s Monster Hunt will be the third instalment of its kind and the focus will be solely on children’s books. The hunt features four new members of the Monster clan – Misstachio, SpikeyDash, FurBarry and KatieCup. From 18-30 April 2019, these book-loving monsters will be prowling the grounds hidden away in the nooks and crannies of all MPH Bookstores nationwide (except MPH Sunway Geo). Each monster represents a discount of up to 30%. Once found, customers can paste the monster stickers on any children books they wish to purchase.
“World Book Day is the biggest celebration of reading. In order to encourage children to pick up books, learn and explore the joys and pleasures of reading them, they must first associate books with fun, wonder and enjoyment. We hope that our efforts of organising the Monster Hunt and collaborating with Boost will inspire and encourage the lifelong habit of reading amongst children,“ said Jeremy Yow, Head of MPH Bookstores Marketing.
