Kuala Lumpur, 6 August 2019 – Homegrown e-wallet Boost will be bringing Malaysians from all walks of life together at Boostopia – a gathering of the country’s favourite online brands and local merchants at TREC, Kuala Lumpur.
Starting on 8 August, the three-day experiential event is open to public and free to attend. It will give visitors the opportunity to experience firsthand the seamless cashless convenience, ease of use, safety and security as well as fun-filled and rewarding experiences with Boost e-wallet at Boostopia.
True to our favourite national pastime, Boostopia’s gastronomy experience area will feature 15 F&B booths and 12 food trucks with menus curated exclusively for visitors.
Visitors can also expect live performances from Talitha Tan, Ryot Jones, Paperplane Pursuit and other talented local artists to serenade them at Boostopia. A 50,000 strong ball pit will serve as an insta-worthy maze of art installations where visitors can also try their luck at finding a special hidden prize.
Ongoing from 24 July to 7 August, users can take up the Boostopia Shake Challenge by shaking their phones 88 times in 31 seconds to stand a chance to win RM188 cash via the Boost App to be spent at the carnival.
Boostopia will take place from 4 pm – 12 midnight, 8 -10 August at TREC, Kuala Lumpur.
Online Shopping Just Got Easier
For those who can’t join the festivities at Boostopia, Boost is also organizing its 8.8 Online Boost Day happening on 8 August where users can shop online at Boost partners and get special offers as well as discounts when they checkout their shopping carts and pay using Boost.
This coincides with the rollout of Boost’s latest Tap-and-Pay feature that enables users to seamlessly and securely transact when shopping online using their phones in three easy steps without the need to remember usernames, passwords and wait for OTP/TAC numbers. Security is ensured by requiring all transactions be verified using a unique six-digit PIN or biometric scan on supported devices.
To use the online payment feature, simply choose Boost at checkout page and tap on the ‘tap and pay’ button. The Boost app will be launched automatically and users only need to verify payment by keying in a unique six-digit PIN or use the biometric scanning feature to verify the payment. Upon successful payment, users will be directed back to the merchant’s page.
Users without the Boost app installed on their devices can still transact by signing in using the mobile number tied to their Boost account and password. On the merchant checkout page, tap on ‘sign in to pay’ and enter sign-in details when prompted, then verify payment by keying in the Boost transaction PIN number. The cumbersome process of waiting for an OTP is eliminated, making it a simple three-step process.
Using a laptop or tablet to make payment for purchases is also simple. Simply scan the QR code using the Boost app on your phone to complete a purchase. Authorize payment by entering the six-digit PIN or by using the biometric scan feature. If a phone runs out of battery or isn’t accessible, users have the option to sign in to pay.
