333kg of Trash Collected from Pantai Kelanang for Cleaner Beaches and Coastlines
- 18th October 2019
The beach clean-up was part of Boost’s #CleanerMalaysia initiative.
Employees of homegrown and leading lifestyle e-wallet Boost, together with volunteer members of the public, collected and documented a total of 333kg of trash at a recent beach clean-up along Pantai Kelanang, Banting.
The day out at Pantai Kelanang was part of the e-wallet provider’s ‘Boost My Malaysia’ campaign which represents distinct initiatives that focuses on instilling core values – Cleaner, Kinder, Healthier, Fairer and Progressive – as key building blocks for a better nation. The beach clean-up was part of Boost’s #CleanerMalaysia initiative.
Boost My Malaysia also gives all Malaysians the opportunity to band together and support important causes by leveraging on Boost. For a #CleanerMalaysia, Boost users can participate simply by using their e-wallet to pay bills – for every 100 bill payments made, Boost will contribute RM 2.50 to Reef Check Malaysia to remove plastic waste from the ocean. Each RM2.50 contributed helps remove 1kg of trash from our beaches and coastlines.
Similarly, when users carry out certain daily transactions through the app, Boost will make contributions to the following causes:
- Pertiwi Soup Kitchen for a #KinderMalaysia to provide food aid towards the less fortunate with every 100 online payment transactions made
- MySTEMI Foundation for a #HealthierMalaysia to provide funding assistance to heart attack patients in need of treatment with every 100 prepaid top-ups purchased
- Supporting the development of special education in the country for a #Fairer and #ProgressiveMalaysia with every 100 ‘Scan & Pay’ transactions made
